Life Preloved – November Update

At long last, I am back! My blog went down sometime in the spring and in all these months since, I’ve been making connections both online and in person, getting involved in various events in my community that support sustainable fashion, discovering other mediums of social media such as the videos of my thrift hauls on Instagram and I’ve opened an eBay shop.

I did miss writing and have since met lots of new people and brands that have inspired me as a perfect fit of my own goals for the future and establishing a name for myself. I have a lot of ideas and posts to catch up on but I hope you have been following along on Instagram or Facebook.

Lets take a look at some of my favourite moments and finds from the past few months:

vv6I was featured in Everywear Edmonton in the Edmonton Journal a few times and made some new connections with other IG users.

vv5I once again supported Fashion Revolution Week in my city and had one inspiring and in depth connection and conversation with Mercedes who organized the swap at Change of Clothes. Already thinking ahead for next years event!

vv1I thrifted and spotted so many great items that my IG followers have run out and bought! This print is the one thing I regret not buying, please who ever bought this – sell it back to me!

vv2I collaborated with Andrew from Lucid Lifestyle and hosted a fashion swap where I finally met up with my fellow local thrift bloggers. Stay tuned for the next collaboration with Andrew as he embarks in the slow fashion movement of men’s clothing, Pillar Heights.

vv4I let down some walls of my introverted and private self getting in front of the camera to showcase my preloved finds and my love for street art.

vv7I’ve started focusing on the sustainability side of fashion, including supporting local designers, promoting slow fashion and investing in the craftsmanship of these trades and lifespan of my items by repairing my goods. These shoes that I bought thrift a few years ago were fixed up with a Topy rubber grip and new heels thanks to another connection I made this year with Rodrigo from Zapato Sanchez.

vv3And of course I found stellar scores while thrift shopping, to keep, for loved ones as well as sourcing to sell and work towards some personal goals of mine for the future.

I could share many more pictures and stories here of all my chats, connections and thrift finds. I look forward again to posting more often and building my blog and brand.

Jennifer.
