Everyone knows that I’m a huge fan of Value Village but I’d like to take more time to check out and support local thrift or consignment stores as well as different big thrift shops. I like to check out Edmonton Emergency Relief Services, Peacock Boutique Thrift Shop every few months on my lunch breaks. Its been noted that it’s likely best to call ahead before you make the trip over as they often have unique store hours or close to the general public to serve their emergency relief clients.
Here’s what I spotted:
And now for what I purchased:
If you’re keeping track, my bill was $5.50 for three great items! My one complaint that I realized this trip is that none of the clothing is sized so you really have to sift or eyeball the racks. The store is best for household and furniture items – they make sure everything is clean and in working condition before they put it on the sales floor whereas Value Village has stations to let you try out electrical items before you buy. Peacock Boutique also sells a lot of overstock or business items – they had tons of brand new Joe shoes and clothing as well as brand new and used items from Coast Hotels. This thrift shop is definitely one to check out when you’re downtown!
Until the next thrift!
