Value Village – August

Had to get one last Value Village shop in before the mayhem of Halloween sets in. I personally don’t love shopping there when its Halloween season (the rows are too crowded, too many people…) but I was surprised that its two months away and they are already in full Halloween mode!

It was a good, quick shop so let’s get to the goods. Here’s what I spotted:

Spotted lots of items from Anthropologie, starting with this monogram mug.

20140829_171429This large pottery mug is perfect for warming up during the fall season. Kicking myself for not getting it.

20140829_171953The body care section is a section that a lot of people bypass but I’m always sure to check out. This is one of the better bags I have seen put together. SpaRitual vegan nail polish (my absolute favourite, these minis cost $6 each at the spas) and Victoria’s Secret body butter. I decided not to get these because I wasn’t sure what the condition was of the nail polish. Has anyone ever purchased from this section? I’m curious to hear some feedback. Though Value Village does have a return policy if something isn’t right with the purchase.

20140829_172106Brand new Body Shop gift set. Perfect for Christmas time presents!

20140829_172331Nike Free’s. Yes these are a little dirty but they were in overall good condition regardless. These could likely be put in the wash on gentle and the soles cleaned up back to like-new condition! They retail brand new for $120.

20140829_173707I read in a Holt Renfrew article that faux fur is a hot item for fall. Seeing this Joe coat made me think just that.

20140829_174016Fit like a glove but didn’t put it in my basket. I went back for it and it was gone. Definitely a Value Village rule – always take it!

20140829_175235French Connection tunic.

20140829_175328Free People dress.

20140829_182921Anthropologie shirt. Loved this but it’s hang to dry and the material is one that would be need to be ironed. I have a rule of not to purchase anything that needs to be ironed/steamed as it would just hang in my closet.

20140829_182932The backside of this great Anthropologie shirt. Some iron loving fashionista will be lucky to score this!

20140829_190306Loved this Billabong tank but it wasn’t a keeper for me.

20140829_190726-1J. Crew zebra t-shirt. This was cute but it was one I left behind.

20140829_191304Vans shirt. Great for summer, but didn’t love it on me.

20140829_191507Lords of Liverpool graphic tee. Had to look up this brand, apparently it’s an up and coming line… from England of course.

20140829_191402-1Love these over sized graphic tee’s but they don’t work well on my petite figure.

20140829_193128Such a gorgeous dress. Too bad, too small!

And now for my purchases:

20140829_190546George tank $5

20140829_190615Dynamite sheer flowy tank $6. This is really pretty on!

20140829_190851Hudson’s Bay collection t-shirt $4. HBC is a Canadian classic! Love those stripes!

20140829_172814Geox flats $20. The one thing I have never had success with is the shoe section. I have small feet and the selection isn’t always the greatest. Scored these babies tonight that just looked too cute once one!

20140829_172907Great little find! Geox flats. $20 is a little high for Value Village but I always save 30% with my Super Saver card.

Likely won’t be back to Value Village until after the Halloween season. Will check out some local consignment stores in the meantime. Don’t forget you can also find me on Facebook and Instagram. Facebook is actually where I share the most information so be sure to find me there!

Until the next thift!
